Down the TBR Hole #1

Web

Down the TBR Hole was created by Lost in a Story. Its purpose is to help narrow down your TBR list on Goodreads by selecting 5 titles each week and deciding if you want to keep it on your TBR or get rid of it! I was inspired by Melanie @ Meltotheany to start this blog series as my TBR pile is OUT OF CONTROL!

How it works:

  • Go to your Goodreads to-read shelf.
  • Order on ascending date added.
  • Take the first 5 (or 10 if you’re feeling adventurous) books
  • Read the synopses of the books
  • Decide: keep it or should it go?

This Week’s 5 Books

Wow, these books were added to my TBR back in 2014! Let’s see what will make the cut.

1) The Tao of Martha by Jen Lancaster

I was a huge fan of Jen Lancaster’s memoirs but I started to move away from them once I started reading more fantasy. I still think she’s a wonderful writer but I really prefer reading her daily musings on facebook nowadays.

Verdict: DELETE

2) Twisted Sisters by Jen Lancaster

I didn’t realize how HORRIBLE the reviews for this book were! To be honest I wasn’t a fan of Jen’s works of fiction so I will be happy to delete this from my TBR.

Verdict: DELETE

3) The Shining by Stephen King

I’ve been reading more horror lately so King definitely needs to stay on my TBR. Plus I loved the movie.

Verdict: KEEP

4) Doctor Sleep by Stephen King

Ditto with above. Doctor Sleep is the sequel to The Shining so I would like to see what happens to Danny!

Verdict: KEEP

5) Moon Over Soho by Ben Aaronovitch

I really, really did not enjoy the first book in the Rivers of London series, so I don’t even know why I put book 2 on my TBR!? Who knew I would end up not liking a book about a magical cop?

Verdict: DELETE

Thanks for taking a look at my TBR! I’m going to try my best to make this a weekly thing! And please feel free to recommend what books I should add (or remove) from my TBR! You can go here to view my to-read shelf, or here to add me as a friend on Goodreads! 🙂

xx,

Amy
