Down the TBR Hole #5

Down the TBR Hole was created by Lost in a Story. Its purpose is to help narrow down your TBR list on Goodreads by selecting 5 or more titles each week and deciding if you want to keep it on your TBR or get rid of it! I was inspired by Melanie @ Meltotheany to start this blog series as my TBR pile is OUT OF CONTROL!

How it works:

• Go to your Goodreads to-read shelf.
• Order on ascending date added.
• Take the first 5 (or 10 if you’re feeling adventurous) books
• Read the synopses of the books
• Decide: keep it or should it go?

On the chopping block this week:

After doing a few of these TBR Hole posts, I’ve come realize something as a blogger: these book cover photos take up a lot of storage space! So I’m using an app to condense all the thumbnails into one collage (before this I was using WordPress’ collage which uploads all photos individually.) Problem is… the collage app doesn’t have a decent 5-space grid so I decided to put up 6 photos to make it look nice and even (sorry, it’s the OCD in me.) So from here on out, we’ll be looking at 6 books instead of 5. Yay!

THE BODY FINDER BY KIMBERLY DERTING:

This appears to be a story about a girl who can see what happened to people who were murdered. I think I would’ve enjoyed a book like this many years ago but I don’t think I’ll be picking this up.

VERDICT: DELETE

A GREAT AND TERRIBLE BEAUTY BY LIBBA BRAY:

I remember several years back when this book was super hyped. I think I missed the hype train.

VERDICT: DELETE

DASH & LILY’S BOOK OF DARES BY RACHEL COHN & DAVID LEVITHAN

Again, I missed the hype train on this one. I know these types of teen books were super popular at one point. But, I’m 33… and while I absolutely still love reading YA, I think this book may not be quite for me.

VERDICT: DELETE

THE GRAVEYARD BOOK BY NEIL GAIMAN:

I haven’t read a single Gaiman book before and I still want to! So I’ll keep this around for a while.

VERDICT: KEEP

WILL GRAYSON, WILL GRAYSON BY JOHN GREEN & DAVID LEVITHAN

I must’ve been going through a teen contemporary phase! But. Nah.

VERDICT: DELETE

THE LEGEND SERIES BY MARIE LU

I have mixed feelings about Marie Lu. I really enjoyed Warcross, but I really disliked The Young Elites. But I also loved her contribution to the Illuminae series, too! I am going to hold on to this set.

VERDICT: KEEP
