Down the TBR Hole #8

Down the TBR Hole was created by Lost in a Story. Its purpose is to help narrow down your TBR list on Goodreads by selecting 5 or more titles each week and deciding if you want to keep it on your TBR or get rid of it! I was inspired by Melanie @ Meltotheany to start this blog series as my TBR pile is OUT OF CONTROL!

How it works:

• Go to your Goodreads to-read shelf.
• Order on ascending date added.
• Take the first 5 (or 10 if you’re feeling adventurous) books
• Read the synopses of the books
• Decide: keep it or should it go?

On the chopping block this week:

The Alienist by Caleb Carr:

This ended up on my TBR back in 2014 but I completely forgot I added it! And then it recently became a TV show. Last year for Christmas my dad got me a copy of the book which wasn’t something I asked for but am so happy I got it. I think I’ll really like it!

VERDICT: KEEP

The Husband’s Secret by Liane Moriarty:

I love Liane Moriarty’s books so this is for sure a keeper. I really loved Big Little Lies.

VERDICT: KEEP

Famous in Love by Rebecca Serle:

I think 2014 me would’ve enjoyed this girl-becomes-famous YA story but 2018 me says no.

VERDICT: DELETE

The Ghosts of Heaven by Marcus Sedgwick:

Someone I trust did not like this book and that’s enough for me to X it from my TBR.

VERDICT: DELETE

The Raven King by Maggie Stiefvater:

LOL I haven’t even read the second book yet in The Raven Cycle, but I want to. So book 4 is for sure staying on my TBR.

VERDICT: KEEP

All the Bright Places by Jennifer Niven:

I know this book means a lot to so many people, and it has raving reviews. But I am just not sure if this is for me. I am going to say no for now.

VERDICT: DELETE
